Children's palliative care

The book provides a view of the multidisciplinary approach to children's palliative care and its development in the Czech Republic and abroad. The aim of the book is to provide information about the possibilities of holistic care for a child with a life-limiting illness. It focuses on providing individualized care for the whole family of the dying child, respecting the preferences, values, biopsychosocial and spiritual needs of the children and other family members, including siblings. It summarizes theoretical and empirical knowledge published mainly abroad and supplemented by the authors' own experience with the implementation of children's palliative care within the Ondrášek Mobile Hospice. It contributes to the development of paediatric palliative care in the Czech Republic and complements information in this field. The book is intended for professionals, especially doctors, nurses, psychologists, hospital chaplains and social workers. It is also addressed to university teachers and students. It may also appeal to readers who are interested in the topic of death and dying of a child „ however“ touches.
