Pitch-Black Heart

A detective story from Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling

A virtual world, real hatred. The sixth case for Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott.
When a distraught Edie Ledwell bursts into their detective agency, Robin Ellacott isn't sure what to make of the unexpected visit. The co-creator of the animated series 'The Ink Black Heart' is being relentlessly persecuted by an online user with the pseudonym Anomie. Robin concludes that there is nothing she can do to help and dismisses the matter from her mind. But a few weeks later, a shock comes – the young woman has been murdered in Highgate Cemetery, the setting for the entire series. Robin and Cormoran Strike begin their investigation... and soon discover entirely new forms of evil.

Reviews for The Ink Black Heart

“An exceptionally well-crafted contemporary crime novel that highlights many of the negative aspects of social media and online life. At the same time, the author has dealt well with a problem she herself has had to go through.”

Goodreads reader

“A cautionary tale about the influence of the virtual world on the lives of real people. ”
