Cannibal Bay

The sixteenth century. Europe is eagerly venturing into the New World—and with it, a Czech boy who has run away from home to escape the oppression of his masters, seeking freedom beyond the horizon. He finds it in the Brazilian jungle, among the Kažu Indian tribe, far from everything he has ever known. But the jungle is not just a refuge. It is also the territory of the feared Tupinambá—a tribe for whom human flesh is part of a ritual. One careless moment is all it takes for a friend to become a captive, and for an adventure to turn into mortal danger. Bohumír Fiala has written a novel full of fast-paced action, authentic atmosphere, and vivid imagery of the Native American world, which, during the Age of Discovery, was only just entering Europe's consciousness. A story that will grip you from the very first page and won't let go until its surprising end.
