Brotherhood of the Pink Cross
Prague at the end of the 16th century is frightened by the leaflets of the mysterious Brotherhood of the Pink Cross, which appear overnight on the gates of churches. Their authors promise the coming of the day of enlightenment and the crushing of the devil of ignorance. However, Augustin Brecht, a Jesuit, reads them as an attack on his order and appeals to the provincial court to track down and punish the author of the leaflet. The search for the mysterious brotherhood is entrusted to the court scribe Lukáš Trobl from Květnice, who, however, takes little pleasure in his task. No one, not even the always well-informed imperial court physician Michael Maier, knows anything about the presence of the Brotherhood in Prague. But soon someone starts killing in the town and leaves a message with a pink cross and the letters R and K with his victims. Does this mean that the mysterious brothers are the perpetrators of these terrible crimes? It doesn't seem to Lukas, rather it seems to him as if someone is settling scores and taking advantage of people's credulity. But how is he supposed to find out the truth?
