Broken Worlds

A compelling story inspired by true events from a period of breathtaking historical change in Czechoslovakia.

It is the start of 1945, the last winter of the war. The Germans can already sense defeat in the air, yet they are once again organising transports of Jews to concentration camps. Thus, twelve-year-old Danuška's last remaining relative in Prague, her mother, is taken away. Alone, without friends or family, the girl must rely only on herself, bravely fighting for survival every day. She hopefully awaits the imminent defeat of the Germans and looks forward to the return of her loved ones. However, the happy period of post-war freedom ends sooner than anyone could have anticipated. Now an adult, Daniela also embarks on a dangerous search for a major family secret. Only one person can help her, the beloved man she lost years ago…
