Blood ties

Max's debt to the Crown is repaid.

The king has signed Heinrich de Gramont's petition, releasing Max Renard from his military service obligations at the Western Fortress. Max's debt to the Crown is thus repaid. And his 'loving' uncle now expects his unruly, truculent nephew to immediately set off for the capital to marry Viscountess Aurélie de Marbot. Max knows he cannot avoid the journey to the capital this time. Besides his personal affairs, he also has a great many questions for both his father's brother and numerous relatives on his mother's side. He therefore decides to travel to Herouxville and find out just how far his blood ties can take him.
