Historical mystery The Beggar's Revenge
The plot of the author's story with a detective plot takes place in medieval Prague and the main character is still Václav of the Black Horse, the underchief of the Old Town of Prague. In July 1401, an army of Meissen margraves lay in front of Prague, and the lords and knights who were supposed to defend the country joined together in the Pannic Unity and besieged the city from the other side. Prague's townspeople had to leave their workshops and shops and defend their families and property on the parapet of Prague's walls. Dramatic events lead to the treacherous opening of the city gates and an attempt to retrieve Longinus' spear, which was temporarily taken into the possession of Emperor Charles IV. The undertaker Václav is given the task of tracking down the traitor. Little does he know that a beggar is about to enter the final fight.
