Bad Dream
An autumn trip to the island of Rügen quickly turns into a nightmare for the book's heroine, Frida: her lover betrays her, the people around her are not who they seem, and she is forced against her will to search for the secret of the Arkona Tower. Eventually, time itself begins to play tricks on her: Frida finds herself in the twelfth century and experiences the fall of the Arkona sanctuary. In the streams of blood and the smoke of flames consuming the last fortress of pagan magicians, she finds the roots of her own existence. David Glockner (1971) studied chemistry but soon left the safety and security of the laboratory and now devotes himself to music, writing, and idleness. He occasionally works for newspapers and magazines. He spent a long time in the interior of Crete, exploring the cave where the god Zeus was supposedly born. He hastily left the island after a neighbour shot him with a shotgun in a fit of jealousy. He now lives deep in the border forests of northern Bohemia. In 2009, he debuted with the thriller Satan's Egg, an adventure novel with fantasy elements that intertwines the present with the past.
