Jeffery Deaver

Jeffery Deaver is an international bestselling author. His books are sold in 150 countries and have been translated into twenty-five languages. Deaver served two terms as President of the Mystery Writers of America, an organisation whose members include Agatha Christie, Ellery Queen, Mary Higgins Clark, and Walter Mosely. The MWA has named Jeffery a Grand Master. He is the author of more than forty novels, three short story collections, a non-fiction law book, and has also written the lyrics for a country album. His books have won or been nominated for all the major awards. The Next Victim was chosen as Book of the Year by the International Thriller Writers, and the thrillers The Broken Window and Edge were also nominated for the same award. Garden of Beasts won the Steel Dagger award from the British Crime Writers' Association. Deaver has also been nominated for the Edgar Award eight times. He has received three lifetime achievement awards – from the Bouchercon World Mystery Convention, Strand Magazine, and the Raymond Chandler Award in Italy. His book A Maiden's Grave was adapted into an HBO film starring James Garner and Marlee Matlin; the thriller The Bone Collector was made into a film by Universal Pictures starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. Lifetime aired an adaptation of The Devil's Teardrop, and NBC recently aired the nine-part series Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector. In 2019, The Never Game – the first instalment in the series that introduced readers to the nomadic reward-hunter Colter Shaw – hit the shelves.
