Aquila - Battlemage

Battlemage Aquila Danté and his dragon have been fighting the Possessed for years, and together with the human armies, they have so far managed to repel the legions of hell. But when another battlemage suddenly disappears and Aquila goes looking for him, he encounters a new, most terrifying demon yet, known as Caim, the Soul Reaper.
While Aquila battles Caim, his son is born. But fate can be cruel, and Aquila must fight not only the hordes of hell, but also tragedy, grief, and the endless intrigues of the mages.
Meanwhile, his beloved dragon's scales have been darkening all this time—it's clear that the dragon Calon Tȃn will soon turn black. And as everyone knows, black dragons are enemies of mankind; black dragons are insane.
Captain Mathilda Steinhardt also wages war against the Possessed, bravely facing the relentless onslaught of Possessed, beasts, and demons. The missing battlemage writhes in torment in Caim's captivity, and one mage novice descends into darkness to find answers from a mysterious being known as the Sinner.

Heroes fall and new ones rise.
