
Anna Karenina
An exceptional novel set among the upper social classes in Russia at the beginning of the 19th century. Anna Karenina is a member of the St. Petersburg nobility and falls fatefully in love with the young Count Vronsky. She leaves her husband and son, becoming the target of condemnation from all of society. Despite her attempts to get a divorce, her social standing does not improve; on the contrary, she finds herself in a hopeless situation with no way out. The text is based on the translation by Mária Klimová and has undergone minimal revisions.
