Anatomy and physiology of the human body
The publication introduces the structure and functioning of the human body in the basic scope, which is the study of psychology, pedagogy, social work and other humanities (non-medical) disciplines. The text does not go into medical details, but provides a brief compendium of two broad theoretical fields of medicine.
The book is clearly structured and covers the entire human body. It provides a basic introduction to the field of cell biology, informs about the division of tissues. The most comprehensive part is devoted to the individual organ systems. In order to clarify the position of anatomy and physiology in the system of sciences, the basic division of medical disciplines and the possibilities of examination of individual organs currently available to us are also included. One chapter is devoted to the basics of the holistic (complex) approach, which conceives of the human being as a bio-psycho-social-spiritual complex existing in a certain space and time. In doing so, the publication defines the relevance of the study of human anatomy and physiology for non-medical disciplines, linking the physical, psychological, relational and overlapping domains. Within the chapters on individual organ systems, there are also references to possible wider contexts (for example, how hormones can affect mental state). The text is richly illustrated and supplemented with photographs and images from medical examinations.
