Amicis omnia sunt communia

Integration and disintegration processes are a subject of constant interest in many scientific fields and naturally open the way to a range of interdisciplinary research in which historical aspects of the issue are closely linked to economic, social, cultural or religious approaches. This book is not intended to be, and ultimately cannot be, a comprehensive overview and generalization of all types of integration and disintegration tendencies, but it does present the various approaches and possibilities that this diverse and broad issue encompasses. It pushes the theme further and offers a starting point for exploring further connections. < br> At the same time, the authors would like to commemorate the jubilee of the Cologne historian Václav Drška, whose lifelong research has been devoted to topics closely related to the issue of integration and disintegration.
