Allergies and asthma
The first part of the book discusses the approach to asthma in pregnancy based on the guidelines developed by a working group of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda. It presents recommendations for long-term treatment and for the management of acute conditions. It also covers other diseases that have a significant impact on the worsening of asthma in pregnancy, and includes guidance on preparing asthmatic women for childbirth. The second part deals with allergy and asthma prevention. It is based on foreign consensus, with the addition of new findings. Primary prevention measures should be implemented already during pregnancy and smoothly transition to the early stages of the child's life, secondary and tertiary prevention is indicated. The texts are based on evidence-based medicine. They'll help the allergists, pneumologists, practitioners for children and adults, dermatologists, gynecologists, ENT doctors, but also for physicians of other specialties to better orient themselves in the problem and provide care corresponding to the current knowledge.
