All his wives

It's Christmas Eve and seven very different women are gathered around a festive dinner. Seven women closely associated with one man – Vittoria. Sitting here are his mother, sister, current and former wife, mistress and two daughters, each from a different relationship. They're all waiting, but Vittorio isn't coming. Instead, only a mysterious text message arrives – a few words that will make his absence all the more disturbing.

The void Vittorio leaves behind is full of question marks. And it extends not only on the empty chair, but also in the souls of those who love Vittorio. In the days, weeks and months to come, all his women must find the courage to break free of their learned stereotypes and perhaps even lean on each other. Perhaps then, in Vittorio's absence, he will discover an opportunity to see things from a new perspective.

In Caterina Bonvicini's mercilessly ironic farce, things can go wrong at any time with almost thriller-like unexpectedness, even the most sympathetic person can appear in an unflattering light, and every revelation usually has a flip side.

All His Women is a story about love, about unadorned family and love relationships and all that society projects onto them. Finding one's own freedom is a long haul, and it is the absence of a man that finally gives all his women a chance to see through and speak out.
