Airtightness of building envelopes

The book is intended primarily for designers and architects, but it can also be useful for investors with a responsible approach to quality control of construction work and for all those interested in low-energy construction, where ensuring the airtightness of the envelope is considered a key issue. It introduces the reader to the basic building physical problems associated with the occurrence of leaks in the building envelope, reminds the reader of the connection between the airtightness of the building envelope, ventilation of the building and its energy consumption. It presents the possibilities of air tightness control and the results of measurements on buildings in the Czech Republic. It also offers a number of conceptual recommendations, design principles and an overview of products designed to ensure the airtightness of the envelope.
