Under the image of pity: Auburn and Owen's story
When twenty-one-year-old Auburn Reed moves to Dallas, she feels like fate is constantly throwing sticks at her. But she's not one to give up right away. Fortune seemed to smile on her only when she met the charismatic painter Owen Gentry in the studio where she came to apply for a job. A gifted artist creates images based on the anonymous confessions of strangers about what they regret most. But he himself has a secret that could destroy the most important thing Auburn cares about in life. But what to do when reason dictates otherwise than the heart?
