A Woman and a Lion
Woman with a Lion is the first volume in a four-part anthology of Czech and Slovak female speculative fiction authors, launching a completely unique project in our country. Enjoy a diverse range of all kinds of speculative fiction genres! Look forward to interesting heroes and heroines who defy the usual clichés and fight primarily with their inner strength!
The book contains 13 short stories, representing the genre diversity of literary speculative fiction (fantasy, sci-fi, horror, steampunk, post-apocalyptic, humour, cyberpunk, alternative history, etc.). The stories for the first book were selected to conceptually tie in with the titular Woman with a Lion card, thus showing various forms of inner strength in both heroines and heroes. The editors, Zuzana “Zangadora” Hloušková and Františka Vrbenská, have long been active in the Czech speculative fiction scene, and their overview and publishing experience guarantee good taste.
The book has 356 pages, is B6 format, and has a colour cover and black-and-white illustrations. The book cover was created by our leading artist, Jana Maffet Šouflová.
