A Touch of Darkness
A Drink Before the War: A Darkness You Can't Escape
A serial killer is terrorising the streets of Boston, and their choice of victims seems to make no sense. They are depraved, brutal and unpredictable. And most importantly—they've been behind bars for the last twenty years... Private detectives Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro join the hunt for this murderous beast, whose actions—as they slowly discover—revolve around their own childhoods.
But how can a man sentenced to life in prison years ago possibly be a threat? What happened in the past that would make someone kill again? Patrick and Angela are playing for the highest stakes: their own lives and the lives of their loved ones. Each of them will lose someone, and there is nothing they can do to prevent it. You can't win a battle against a psychopath. Whether you win or lose, the darkness you touch will change you forever…
