The conclusion to the Wayfarers space opera cycle. Winner of the Hugo Award for Best Series in 2019.
The last humans left Earth centuries ago. After a long journey through the void, they were (mostly) accepted among the species that help manage and run the galaxy, and the generation-spanning voyage of the Exodus Fleet came to an end.
But that is ancient history. Today, the Exodus Fleet is a living monument, a place where many humans come from, but few have ever seen with their own eyes. Exodans pride themselves on their community and traditions—but they are not as unique as they think.
Many Exodans leave for alien cities or colonies, and those who remain must consider their present and future direction. What is the purpose of a ship that has already reached its destination? Why stay in space when there are other habitable worlds? What is the cost of maintaining a carefully balanced way of life—and is it worth continuing?
