A beautiful, magnificent life
A mysterious past, literary rivalry and unexpected romance
Aspiring writer and eternal optimist Alice Scott is still waiting for her big break. When she tracks down Margaret Ives, the mysteriously disappeared heiress to a media empire, on a small island in Georgia and gets the chance to write her biography, she doesn't hesitate for a second. Even though Margaret, nicknamed the 'Tabloid Princess' in her youth, insists on a month-long trial period.
But there's a catch. Besides Alice, there's also Hayden Anderson, a tall, brooding Pulitzer Prize winner. Both are offered the chance to meet with Margaret for a month, interview her, and try to convince her which of them should write her story.
But what if Margaret tells each of them something different? Who will win? And how are Alice and Hayden supposed to handle the sparks that are starting to fly between them?

Emily Henry
Emily Henry is an American author of romance novels living in Cincinnati. She wrote her first young adult book in 2016. In 2020, her first and very successful novel for adults was published, which has been translated into more than twenty languages, including Czech (Beach Read, 2021). Since then, Emily has stuck with writing and does it full-time. Her books People We Meet on Vacation (2022) and Book Lovers (2023) are set to be adapted into films. Emily grew up in a small town and has always yearned to achieve success and prove she had a talent. Although she came from a family where everyone read every evening, she only fell in love with romance books when she became a writer herself. Since then, she has managed to significantly change the typical character of so-called 'beach reads'. Her books Happy Place (2024) and Funny Story (2025) have already been published in the Red edition.
