9 Lives of a Woman
How many countries can we live in? In how many jobs can we reach the top? How many children can we raise? How much love and pain can we bear? How many dreams can we fulfil and where is the line between courage and madness? Is it possible to do everything? And is it worth it?
Alina Akhmetshina was born in a Tatar village in the Ural Mountains, where time was measured by nature and reading was considered a waste of time. Alina read in secret and after discovering the world of Emily Brontë, George Sand and other icons, there was no going back. From the Urals, she headed to Charles University in Prague, from where she flew out into the world.
A pilot, a mountaineer, a traveller, a dancer, a producer in film and porn magazines, a headmistress of a nursery school, a travel agency and an integration centre. A coach, a mum, a woman…
9 Lives is a reflection of the world, cultures, relationships and the changes of life in its stages. It presents the true story of a woman who inspires with vitality and optimism despite obstacles. It shows how strong the desire for freedom can be and how it gives us the courage to change our lives and search for our identity across continents. But above all, Alina Akhmetshina has the gift of seeing what is hidden from others, and of describing precisely what others struggle to find words for.
Life can change many times. You just have to not be afraid to set out on your own path.
