The Simplehuman 4.5 litre pedal bin is perfectly sized for use as a desktop bin, or in a bathroom or toilet. The bin features a removable inner bucket, which is lined with a bin bag. This makes the bin very easy to keep clean. The lid is equipped with a special Lid Shox mechanism that ensures smooth and silent operation. The strong steel pedal is engineered to withstand over 150000 steps, which is more than 20 steps a day for 20 years. An invisible silver-ion coating resists fingerprints and the spread of germs without compromising the natural lustre and look of the steel (only on the brushed finish model). The black inner bucket is made from at least 75% post-consumer recycled plastic.

Custom-fit Code A liners fit the Simplehuman bin perfectly, so there's no bunching, slipping or unsightly bag overhang, giving a cleaner, tidier look. They are also extra-strong and have double seams, so you can fill the bin to the brim without any rips, leaks or tears.
Maintenance:
Remove the inner bucket and soak it in a solution of diluted household bleach and water to eliminate odours caused by bacteria and microorganisms. A baking soda solution can also help. Most liquid bleach bottles have instructions and directions for use. Clean the stainless steel weekly with a soft cloth, warm water, and a mild detergent. Do not use steel wool, stainless steel polish, bleach, salts, or acids as they can damage the product. Alternatively, use a microfibre mitt, using only water on one side to wash and the dry side to wipe and polish. Stickers should not leave any residue, but if they do, remove it with adhesive removers like 'Goo Gone', 'Un-du' or 'De-solv-it'. Then, rinse the area with water and dry with a soft cloth.
