ECC technology monitors transparently, and in real time, the integrity of the data stored in memory. It is able to find, and fix, a bug in one bit and detect the error in two bits. Some memory controllers are able in cooperation with ECC memory to correct errors and greater scope. Most professional boards require memory with ECC support.
