The KIDDE 10SCO is a combined fire and carbon monoxide detector. It works on the principle of an electrochemical sensor for carbon monoxide detection and an optical sensor for fire detection. Power is provided by 2 AA alkaline batteries (included), which are inserted into the front cover tray of the detector. This unique design makes it possible to change the batteries without removing the detector from its bracket, while allowing the device to be installed in both ceiling and wall-mounted versions. KIDDE K10SCO has a voice warning system
The Kidde K10SCO has a unique voice alert system that helps you determine which hazard has just been detected - the alarm notifies: "WARNING CARBON MONOXIDE! " ("WARNING! OXID COLD! ") "FIRE FIRE" ("FIRE!, FIRE! "). The voice alert system will also notify the user if the detector goes into a temporary silence mode, if an undesired CO level is recorded in the detector's highest reading memory, or if the power battery is low and needs to be replaced.
Smart temporary silencing of the alarm with the HUSH button
The KIDDE K10SCO is equipped with the advanced HUSH function, which effectively solves the problem of unwanted false alarms. This clever feature allows you to temporarily reduce the sensitivity of the detector for approximately 10 minutes, which is ideal when cooking or in situations where you know it is harmless smoke. Simply press the HUSH button on the detector cover and the device will automatically silence. After 10 minutes, the detector automatically returns to a fully functional state. In case of thick smoke, the HUSH function does not react for safety reasons.
KIDDE K10SCO is reliable in all circumstances
This detector has an optical (photoelectric) sensor designed to continuously monitor the air for the presence of smoke and fire. Thanks to the photoelectric detection technology, the detector reacts faster to a fire in the first phase when a large amount of visible smoke is produced without open flames, such as smoke from smouldering objects, etc. In the event of a fire, an acoustic signal of 85 dB is automatically triggered, and the device also signals the alarm visually (by indicating a red LED).
