The presence of occult blood in the stool may be related to colon polyps, inflammatory bowel disease, stomach and intestinal ulcers, colourectal cancer In the early stages of these diseases, any symptoms are often absent, so preventive testing is essential. Early detection of occult bleeding can lead to early diagnosis and significantly improve the prognosis of treatment. Preventive testing is recommended for all people, especially those over 50 years of age, but also for younger people with stress or digestive problems.

Human hemoglobin (occult blood in the stool).
Sample type
Stool sample (taken with a stool trap).
Abbreviated testing procedure
- Collect a stool sample in the trap.
- Poke the sample applicator into the sample in at least 3 different places and insert it back into the buffer tube. Shake well.
- Remove the test cartridge from the foil.
- Break off the tip of the tube and inject 2 drops (approx. 80 µl) of sample into the well of the test.
- Read the result after 5 minutes (do not interpret after 10 minutes).
Interpretation of results
- Positive: two lines (C + T), even a weak line in the T region is positive
- Negative: control line C only
- Invalid: missing line C - repeat the test with a new piece

- Detection limit: 50 ng/ml (6 μg/g)
