Instructions for using Uro-C-Kontrol test strips

Intended use:
The URO C-KONTROL® in-vitro medical device test strips are used for the indicative determination of ascorbic acid concentration in urine. The test result should be evaluated by a doctor.

Mechanism of action:

The test provides indicative information about a possible ascorbic acid deficiency in the body and its extent. The method is based on the action of a complex chelating agent with a polyvalent metal ion and a colour indicator, which reacts proportionally to the ascorbic acid concentration by changing its colour shade. The test strips consist of a plastic carrier on which one indicator zone is fixed.

Package contents:

The package contains 4 test strips in primary protective packaging (sachet) and the enclosed instructions for use.

Storage:

Store the product in its original protective packaging at temperatures between 15°C and 30°C. Protect from frost, moisture and heat. Do not store the product in the refrigerator or near heating elements. Also, protect from direct sunlight to prevent the colour comparison scale on the packaging from fading.
Warning:
One test strip is intended for single use only. Reusing the strip is not possible. For the product to function correctly, it is necessary to strictly follow the storage conditions, the procedure for collecting urine samples and the test procedure, and not to touch the test zone of the strip. Use within 90 days of opening. Do not use after the expiry date on the packaging or if the packaging is damaged.

Urine collection procedure:

Collect urine in a dry and clean collection container. Do not centrifuge the urine. Mix the sample well before testing. The urine analysis must be performed immediately. Urine samples must always be obtained and maintained under hygienic conditions.
Performing the test:
Remove the strip from its packaging immediately before use. Do not touch the reagent zone of the strips with your hands. Place the strip vertically into the urine being tested for 1–2 seconds, so that the zone is wetted with urine. The reagent zone of the strip can also be placed in the midstream of urine. Wipe the edge of the strip against the rim of the collection container to remove excess urine. Place the strip on a horizontal, clean, dry, and absorbent surface. After 30 seconds, evaluate the colour of the reagent zone by comparing it with the colour scale on the packaging. Artificial lighting may cause distorted results. A single test strip cannot be reused.

Result and explanation of its meaning:

There is a scale on the packaging with which the colour of the strip is compared half a minute after being immersed in fresh urine. The scale indicates vitamin C levels of 1, 10, 20, 50, and 100mg/dl. The ideal vitamin C value is 100mg/dl. It is marked in yellow on the scale. This indicates that the body's physiological requirements for antioxidant capacity and biochemical reactions (e.g., at the level of the immune, nervous, cardiovascular systems) in which ascorbic acid is involved are saturated. In case of vitamin C deficiency, indicated by values in the green range, it is advisable to increase your daily vitamin C intake.

Limitations and possible errors:

The daily urinary excretion of ascorbic acid depends on the body's physiological requirements for protective antioxidant capacity and the biochemical reactions in which ascorbic acid is involved; its daily intake must correspond to these requirements. If the urine is too dilute, the sample may not contain a sufficient amount of ascorbic acid. For this reason, it is desirable to collect and test the first morning urine, where the concentration of individual components is usually highest and most stable. The effect of medicines or their metabolites on the ascorbic acid content has not yet been fully clarified. The sensitivity of the test can be affected by the variability of urine composition throughout the day. As with all diagnostic tests, a definitive diagnosis should not be based on a single test, but should be made exclusively by a doctor after all clinical and laboratory findings have been evaluated.
Health protection:
The product does not contain any toxic substances. It is necessary to observe personal hygiene principles when performing the test.

Disposal:

Pour the tested urine into the toilet bowl and flush. Throw the empty packaging and the used strip into the municipal waste.

About liposomal technology

Liposomal technology is a breakthrough technology used in the pharmaceutical and food industries, which allows important active substances to be delivered in sufficient quantities directly to the relevant organs, thus increasing their bioavailability. This technology enables gradual release and targeted transport in the body, as it ensures excellent absorption of the active substance from the digestive tract into the blood.
Liposomal absorption is nothing new in nature: for example, in breast milk, nutrients are protected by fatty substances (phospholipids) so that the infant's body can absorb and utilise them as effectively as possible.
In the case of RosaCelip-LD®, liposomal absorption is crucial for vitamin C in terms of its protection during distribution through the stomach to the intestines and its bioavailability for immune, nerve, and other cells. Liposomal absorption from the intestine into the blood is not limited by intestinal transporters (as is the case with common oral forms, including slow-release forms without liposomal absorption). Compared to regular vitamin C, RosaCelip-LD® thus maintains a several times higher level and availability in the body for the antioxidant protection of healthy cells and especially for the immune and nervous systems. Thanks to its effective and gradual absorption into the body, it is also gentle on the kidneys and the digestive system.

Dosage:

Children aged 3 to 6 can be given a measuring cup filled to the 1–2ml mark (50–100mg of vitamin C) 1–2× a day.
Children aged 6 and over can be given a measuring cup filled to the 2–4ml mark (100–200mg of vitamin C) 1–2× a day.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Warning:

A food supplement is not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Ingredients:

RosaCelip-LD® contains 50mg of vitamin C (62.5% RDI) per dose (1ml), citrus bioflavonoids, dry rosehip fruit extract - 10mg, fatty acids and apple juice concentrate - 50mg. For the exact composition, see the packaging.
