The Traxxas XRT 8S 1:6 scale RC car model combines an excellent race-inspired design and construction with the performance and power of the legendary X-Maxx. The result is a brand-new off-road car platform with sharp steering and high stability, which, with the new super-powerful VXL-8S drive, is even faster and can reach speeds of up to 96km/h! The model is designed for the ultimate driving experience. It has a low centre of gravity, a wide track width, and top-of-the-line components for extreme performance. The chassis is made of nylon with a modular design and integrated shock mounts. The design is based on the X-Maxx model and is highly impact-resistant. The all-metal drivetrain consists of a "Cush Drive" absorption member, front, centre and rear differentials, an aluminium centre shaft, steel half-axles, and dual-bearing wheel hubs.

Modular design, nylon chassis
The modular design allows for the complete front or rear section to be removed. In just a few minutes, you have full access for easy servicing and model setup. The modularity of the car's chassis significantly simplifies maintenance, making it much easier to get to the differentials, etc. The model's chassis is formed by a composite moulding, which is very rigid and at the same time lightweight due to its spatial concept. The design allows it to absorb hard impacts without permanent damage. From the underside, the chassis is protected by three skid plates that can be easily replaced if damaged.
Integrated GTX shock towers, real-time telemetry
The model uses proven technology that integrates the shock towers directly into the chassis, ensuring exceptional strength and durability. In the event of an impact, the energy is also distributed into the chassis structure and dampened. The massive GTX shocks are precisely designed and tuned for a large model. They consist of an aluminium, colour-anodised body, solid steel piston rods with ball joints, massive springs and precision sealing X-rings. For proper function, the shocks are filled with oil of optimal viscosity. The exclusive controller with advanced electronics is equipped for real-time telemetry measurement. Using a wireless Bluetooth module (sold separately) and the Traxxas Link app, it is possible to monitor speed, engine rpm and battery voltage, directly in real time on your phone. The controller provides telemetry data and no additional sensors need to be installed.
Cush drive absorption system, bearing hubs and XRT wheels
The innovative Cush drive system uses a special part equipped with elastomeric silent blocks to absorb the engine's impact. The system replaces the slipper clutch and allows for a more efficient and reliable drive without complicated adjustments. The suspension arms are made of the most durable composite material that Traxxas uses. The front bumper and rear wing mount have an ingenious design with an absorption zone for impact. The new high-strength knuckles contain large sealed ball bearings and are a compatible upgrade for the X-Maxx model. The large 3.8" racing wheels have a matte black finish, a large 24mm splined hex, and a 17mm aluminium locknut for secure attachment to the knuckle shaft. The Gravix tyres are designed for excellent performance both on the track and off-road. A strong centre carcass reduces bulging at high speed.
Powertrain and differentials
The XRT RC car uses an all-metal drivetrain, taken from and rigorously tested on the X-Maxx model. The differential cases are also the same for flawless bearing support. To distribute the 4×4 drive power, the model is equipped with front, centre and rear differentials. The centre differential uses a very thick 20M cSt oil to utilise full power without slipping during lightning-fast acceleration. The axle differentials are fitted with four metal gears for durability and long life. Robust steel drive shafts with a splined output from the differential safely transmit the full power of the engine to the wheels. Thanks to the constant-velocity (CV) joint design, the shafts run smoothly in any suspension position.
Traxxas Stability Management
The Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) system allows you to experience not only power, speed, acceleration and cornering at extreme speeds, but also ensures much easier steering and control on slippery surfaces such as dust, smooth concrete or even ice and snow. The receiver has a MEMS 3-axis gyro and accelerometer, which evaluates the model's movement about 100 times per second and corrects the model's driving direction with appropriate interventions in the steering of the front wheels. Traxxas TSM does not limit engine power—you have 100% control over the engine's output. The algorithms are tuned for each model individually. The level of assistance is set using the multi-function knob on the transmitter or, if applicable, in the Traxxas Link application.
Recommended accessories
To operate the model, you need 4× AA batteries for the transmitter, 2× drive batteries and a charger for the drive batteries. Traxxas universal chargers can be used to charge Traxxas LiPo and NiMH batteries. Traxxas chargers are a simple and safe way to charge your batteries. Traxxas uses a unique iD system, so you can always be sure that you can connect everything easily and safely. There is an integrated chip in the battery connector which the Traxxas charger automatically recognises and sets all the battery charging parameters for you. For the routine operation of a Traxxas RC car, you need screw glue, quality tyre glue, silicone oil for the shocks, and a set of screwdrivers.
