Carcassonne Expansion 9: Sheep and Shepherds (2025)

Key features of Carcassonne expansion 9: Sheep and Shepherds (2025)

Transform your strategy

In the ninth Carcassonne expansion, the landscape comes alive with animals and vineyards. Send out your shepherds to tend the flocks of sheep and geese. The bigger the herd, the more points for you. But be careful, as soon as the wolf appears, all your sheep will scatter and you and the shepherd will return empty-handed. The Sheep and Shepherds expansion brings new mechanics to the game that will transform your strategy. Instead of a standard companion, you can place your shepherd in the meadow. Each turn you expand the meadow with your shepherd, you can choose to increase your herd by drawing chips from the bag. However, if you decide to herd the sheep to safety, you will earn points for each sheep in your flock.

All new cards and figures can be combined with the base game

In addition to the sheep, flocks of geese and vineyards also appear in the landscape. Flocks of geese will bring bonus points when you decide to drive the sheep into the sheepfold. Vineyards in turn provide extra points when evaluating the monasteries or gardens they are located near. Extension cannot be played alone, but you can combine it with the base game and other expansions.
