SOUDAL Soudabond Easy

Soudal Soudabond Easy adhesive is a fast-setting and highly effective polyurethane adhesive that allows easy bonding of many types of materials. During application, it creates a low-expansion foam that fills in any unevenness on the surface of the bonded parts. The adhesive is suitable for bonding thermal and sound insulation panels made of foam rubber, polystyrene, and polyurethaneto substrates made of cork, concrete, stone, wood, and metal substrates. It offers very good adhesion immediately after initial application and is easy to use with the application tube. You can bond up to 14m² of acoustic materials with this adhesive.

Workflow

Thermal insulation and plasterboard panels:
Cover surrounding and adjacent areas to prevent them from getting dirty. Do not work in strong winds. The surface must be clean, free of dust and grease, and may be damp. Remove any loose parts of the substrate and, if necessary, prime loose substrates. Shake the can thoroughly (at least 30 times). Screw the application tube onto thevalve. When bonding boards , apply a strip of adhesive foam approx. 3cm wide around the entire perimeter of the board, approx. 3cm from the edge, and apply a wave pattern to the center. Hold the applicator 1–2cm above the surface of the board. Apply the foam so that approx. 40% of the bonded area is covered after bonding. Glue light boards immediately after applying the foam (within 8 minutes at thelatest); for heavier boards, it is recommended to wait a while and glue them 4–8 minutes after applying the foam. Press the board against the surface for 30–60 seconds. Fix heavy boards in place for approx. 60 minutes. You can fill the joints between the boards with Soudabond Easy. Cut off any excess hardened foam with a knife.

Building partitions from blocks:

Suitable for building non-load-bearing walls and partitions. Remove dust from the surface and, if necessary, apply a primer (for loose surfaces of aerated concrete blocks). Apply two longitudinal strips of foam to the top of the block and immediately lay the next layer. Any joints can be filled with Soudabond Easy.
Surfaces:
All common building materials such as concrete, masonry, plaster, drywall, stone, wood, metals, polystyrene, bitumen coatings, and surface-treated asphalt strips (does not adhere to PE, PP, PTFE, or silicone). Do not use for bonding glass wool and mineral wool insulation without mechanical fastening. The surface must be cohesive, clean, free of grease and dust. Partial moisture of the substrate is possible but not necessary.
Cleaning:
Before curing, the foam can be removed with Soudal PU foam cleaner or acetone. After curing, remove mechanically and with Soudal cured foam remover.
Warning:
Always use the same type of foam for repairs. Follow standard safety and hygiene rules. Wear protective gloves and goggles. Do not remove cured foam by burning. Protect cured foam from UV radiation by coating or sealing it (silicone, MS polymer, acrylic or PU sealant).
Storage:
18 months from the date of manufacture in unopened original packaging at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C. Store in an upright position with the valve facing upwards.
