RACER DIP synthetic spray paint creates a transparent matt finish that protects the surface from damage. Thanks to its resistance to UV light, chemicals and corrosion, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It is primarily used as a protective coating for car wheels, but you can also use it on a wide range of other materials, such as metal, plastic or wood. Racer Dip is a special version of peelable paint that serves as a protective shield or as a top coat to achieve a glossy finish. This product is the key to transforming Racer Dip’s standard matt finish into a brilliant shine.

Functional characteristics and applications
All standard Racer Dip shades have a natural matt finish once dry. If you want a glossy finish, apply the product as the final coat over any coloured Racer Dip. The translucent, glossy finish enhances the depth of the shade and gives it a modern wet look.
Possible uses:
1. Protective film: applied directly to the car’s original paintwork to create an invisible barrier against stone chips and scratches (creating a clear, glossy film).
2. Final Top Coat: A colour-matching Racer Dip application to change the matt finish to a gloss finish.
UV protection: prevents yellowing and colour fading underneath.
Extreme flexibility: retains its properties even when subjected to significant temperature fluctuations.
100% removability: Even after applying the gloss finish, the entire system can still be peeled off in one piece.
Technological process:
To achieve a flawless finish without an orange peel effect, the manufacturer recommends:
1. Preparing the surface: If you are applying Racer Dip over coloured polish, make sure the polish is touch-dry (approx. 20–30 minutes after the final coat).
2. Layering technique: Apply 3 to 4 coats of Transparent Gloss. With this product, it is important to apply slightly wetter layers than with the coloured versions, so that the pigments blend together to form a smooth, glossy finish.
3. Curing: To achieve maximum hardness and gloss, allow the surface to cure for 24 hours in a dust-free environment.
Recommendations and maintenance:
Racer Dip Transparent Gloss is ideal for providing temporary protection for headlights against sand and stone chips. Thanks to its clarity, it does not affect the light output, whilst protecting the plastic from oxidation. Racer Dip has a primarily matt finish; however, if you apply 3–4 coats of the product over a matt base, you will achieve a full gloss finish. The formulation contains powerful UV stabilisers, which ensure that the transparent layer remains crystal-clear throughout its service life (2–4 years). We recommend washing the glossy surface with standard car shampoo. For even greater shine and water-repellent properties, you can use liquid waxes or non-abrasive detailers once the surface has fully cured.
Recommended number of sprays for a full coat on 4 wheel rims:
To achieve a high-quality shine on a set of wheels (up to R17), we recommend applying two sprays of RACER DIP Transparent Gloss as an additional layer over the base colour.
