Heissner pond B501-00:
Volume:
500 l
Dimensions (L x W x H):
157 × 125 × 54 cm
Setting up the pond in 6 steps: Step 1: site preparation
Place the plastic pond in the chosen location and then use the spade to mark the outline of the pond. It is important that the hole is 10-15 cm larger and deeper than the shape of the pond.
Step 2: excavation of a hole for the pond
Start by excavating the pond pit, including planting zones. Make sure that the pond is on a solid layer of soil and that there are no cavities. This is especially important so that the pond does not drop later.
Step 3: Determine the depth of the pond
The outer edge of the pit must be the same height at all points. For smaller ponds this can be checked very easily with a measuring bar and a spirit level. Different pond depths can be measured and adjusted in this step.
Step 4: settling of the pond
Apply a layer of sand about 10 cm thick on all horizontal surfaces. This simplifies the alignment of the pond on the one hand, and on the other hand guarantees optimal adjustment during settling. Now insert the pond into the prepared hole and align it with a spirit level.
Step 5: filling in the gaps
To prevent the pond from floating away, fill it halfway with water first. Add sand and water to the sides. The horizontal position of the pond must be continuously checked. Repeat this process until all cavities are filled with sand.
Step 6: Filling with water
If the pond is completely settled with sand and water (settled in the resulting mud), fill it completely with water. Place the aquatic plants in the planters in the designated plant zones. It is now possible to already place a pump for water effects and water movement, or to create a stream.
