ETERNAL IN Steril is a white, washable dispersion paint designed to prevent and suppress the biotic infestation of interior walls by mould, bacteria and other microorganisms.

It is ideal for environments where maximum sterility is required (operating theatres, hospital areas, food processing plants, and places with high humidity and a significant risk of mould and bacteria). In homes, it creates a healthy environment, especially for allergy and asthma sufferers. ETERNAL IN Steril has no hazardous properties, does not release any hazardous or volatile organic compounds into the surroundings, and does not dissolve, making it extremely gentle and one of the top products on the market. It is vapour-permeable, has no unpleasant odour, is resistant to wet and dry abrasion, and is suitable for application on remedial renders. It is intended for use on lime, lime-cement and gypsum plasters, acrylic renders, concrete, dispersion and silicate paints, plasterboard, gypsum fibre, fibre cement, cement-bonded particle boards and other absorbent substrates.

Application

Apply ETERNAL IN Steril with a roller, brush or painter's brush to clean, dry, and sound substrates that have been left to cure for 4–6 weeks and are free from lime efflorescence. Any biological growth must be removed; we recommend using ETERNAL mould remover. Old distemper and other non-adherent coatings should also be removed, and the surface degreased with a solution of ETERNAL degreaser concentrate. For highly absorbent substrates, we recommend priming with ETERNAL universal primer or FORTE penetral, or with ETERNAL IN Steril paint diluted with distilled or demineralised water in a 3:1 ratio. Before painting, cover any stains bleeding through from the substrate with ETERNAL IN stop insulating paint. Mix ETERNAL IN Steril thoroughly before use. Only distilled or demineralised water must be used for dilution! Using tap water will neutralise the antibacterial effect of the paint! Apply the paint in two steps at an ambient and substrate temperature between 5–25°C. For the first step, pour some of the product into a dry, clean container and apply the first coat. This will prevent potential dusting of the substrate surface and contamination of the product. Do not return any leftover paint to the original container! After the first coat has dried, apply the final coat. Use clean tools to avoid contaminating the product.
