HIVFIND Sebetest for HIV detection from blood 1 pcs

The HIVFIND whole blood HIV 1/2 self-test is a qualitative screening immunochromatographic test for the detection of HIV-specific antibodies (HIV-1 and HIV-2) in whole blood. The test is intended for use by individuals in a private setting as a self-test to aid in the diagnosis of HIV infection using a self-collected finger-prick blood sample. The HIVFIND Sebetest for the detection of HIV 1/2 antibodies from whole blood consists of a chromatographic test strip that is pre-coated with HIV antigens inside a plastic cartridge. The test is performed by taking a whole blood sample by finger prick and placing the whole blood in the sample well of the test cartridge and adding the test buffer. As the test sample flows through the test strips, a coloured line is formed. If the sample contains HIV antibodies, two lines appear in the control (C) and test (T) areas. If no antibodies are detected, only a control line (C) is created. If the test is performed correctly, a control line (C) always appears.

Disposal

Place the used test cassette, dropper, lancet, alcohol swab, gauze pad and test buffer vial in a disposal bag. Seal the bag and dispose of it in the bin.

Accuracy

The test is very accurate. Evaluation reports show a diagnostic sensitivity of 100% (95% Cl: 99.45% to 100.00%) and a diagnostic specificity of 100% (95% Cl: 99.70% to 100.00%) with respect to the laboratory results of the standard test.

Testing time after a risk event

This test will detect HIV infection if used 3 months after the risk event. If you want to get tested sooner than 3 months, you should contact your local clinic or health professional.

Storage

All reagents are ready for use as supplied. Store Sebetest at 2-30°C. The test cartridge must be brought to room temperature before opening the bag. If the desiccant bag changes colour from blue to light pink or colourless, the cartridge should not be used. The unopened cartridge is stable until the expiry date printed on the sealed bag. Do not freeze the kit.
