How does GS Ovultest work?
Luteinizing hormone (LH) is produced in the hypothalamus of the brain and in women of childbearing age is used to induce ovulation - the release of a mature egg from the ovary. This occurs approximately two weeks before regular menstrual bleeding. At this point, the highest likelihood of pregnancy is after unprotected sexual intercourse - so-called. fruitful days. High levels of luteinizing hormone accurately signal your fertile days. After dipping the ovulation test into a urine sample containing LH, a coloured bar appears (evaluation below). If the test is performed properly, another coloured bar appears in the control area (to check the correctness of the test).
Evaluation of the test
- Positive result: a coloured (pink or purple) test and control strip will appear. The test strip is either as intensely coloured as the control strip or darker. This result shows a rise in LH levels and heralds ovulation, the most suitable time for conception. You have the best chance of getting pregnant in the next 24-48 hours.
- Negative result:the control strip is pink or purple. The test strip either does not appear at all or is lighter than the control strip. The increase in the level of LH hormone has not yet occurred. Perform the test with a new strip the next day at the same time.
- Valid result: no pink or purple stripe appears in the control area. The test did not run correctly and needs to be repeated with a new strip.
Notice
Do not use this test if you are taking medications that may skew its results. These are mainly hormonal drugs containing LH or hCG. The test will also not work properly in pregnancy, after menopause or when taking hormonal contraceptives. Before performing the test, read the instructions carefully and make sure you understand them correctly. Pay attention to the location of the test and inspection strip. Do not use after the recommended expiry date marked on the packaging. Do not use if the protective bag is damaged or open. Use the test immediately after opening the bag. Prolonged exposure of the strip to air humidity impairs its functionality. Do not touch the area where the stripes appear. The test is designed for self-testing in a container of urine (in vitro). It is intended for external use only.
Storage
Store in original packaging at 4-30ºC. It must not freeze.
