What is the difference between pure and buffered bisglycinate?
Many magnesium products on the market are so-called 'buffered' – they combine easily absorbable bisglycinate with cheaper magnesium oxide. While oxide contains a high amount of elemental magnesium, it is significantly less well absorbed. This allows the product to state a higher dose, without the body actually utilising more magnesium.
GS Magnesium Bisglycinate Pure contains only one form of magnesium. All the declared magnesium comes from highly absorbable magnesium bisglycinate. We do not add magnesium oxide or any other inorganic form of magnesium just to increase the elemental magnesium number on the label.
