Sports functionality is one of the main reasons to choose a Garmin Fenix series watch. The watch uses a system of sports profiles dedicated to individual activities. Each sports profile has its own settings and specific functions for that type of sport. The watch is suitable for most sports activities, both indoor and outdoor. Detailed topographic maps of Europe are preloaded in the Garmin watch's memory, with the option to download detailed maps of other continents. The watch can provide detailed navigation over the map, including detailed turn-by-turn instructions when following a route. Routes can be planned directly on the watch, in the Garmin Connect mobile app, or even using the popular Czech application Mapy.cz. Precise positioning is provided by a satellite receiver with support for GPS/GLONASS/GALILEO satellite systems and a multi-band GPS receiver. Optimal satellite reception settings are ensured by SatIQ technology, which can automatically switch between multiple satellite signal reception modes to optimise accuracy and save energy. A very practical tool on the watch is the built-in LED torch with red and white light and adjustable intensity.
Garmin Fenix 8 brings more accurate health monitoring for a healthier lifestyle
The long battery life of the Garmin Fenix 8 allows for all-day wear without the need to frequently take it off for charging. The watch is therefore able to continuously measure and record daily and nightly health and activity data. This primarily includes heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen saturation, respiration rate, daily step count, floors climbed, and minutes of intense activity. From these measured metrics, the watch derives other functions and values, such as Body Battery, Stress Score, HRV Status, temperature and altitude acclimatisation status, and more. Health monitoring functions also include features for measuring sleep duration and quality. In addition to duration and Sleep Score, the Garmin Fenix 8 watch also measures individual sleep stages, short naps, and provides recommendations for achieving better sleep and recovery.
Smart features to make your daily life easier
The Garmin Fenix 8 watch can be connected to smartphones with both Android and iOS operating systems. On both platforms, thanks to the built-in microphone and speaker, the watch offers the ability to make Bluetooth calls directly from your wrist (the watch does not have a built-in SIM card and requires a compatible smartphone to be connected nearby for the calling function). On both platforms, the ability to display notifications and incoming calls on the watch screen is a given. If you own an Android phone, you can also reply to messages directly from the watch display. With the Garmin Fenix 8, you can also record short voice notes or use voice assistant services.
The Garmin Fenix 8 smartwatch supports Garmin Pay
A popular feature is contactless Garmin Pay, which allows you to add a digital copy of your regular payment card to the Fenix 8 (if your card supports the feature) and then pay with the watch in a similar way to using a payment card. Another popular gadget is the built-in music player with support for offline listening from Spotify, Deezer, or Amazon Music. Simply connect wireless headphones to the Garmin Fenix 8 via Bluetooth and listen to music even without your phone.

- Connect IQ – a mobile app that lets you download new watch faces, features, and applications created not only by Garmin but also by external developers and users.
- Garmin Golf – an app for golfers. It provides analysis and statistics of data that the watch can automatically record during a game.
- Garmin Dive – an app for divers. It lets you plan dives and stores and displays detailed records of completed dives.
- Garmin Messenger – a mobile communication app and a watch app that, for example, lets you reply to SMS messages from the watch even when using an iOS phone. The app also serves as a communication gateway when using Garmin inReach satellite communicators.
