Display resolution

currently, the FullHD resolution, i.e. 1920 × 1080, is considered optimal, but 2560 x 1440 is growing increasingly common and manufacturers are getting ready to standardise 4K, i.e. 840 × 2160 pixels. Also keep in mind the aspect ratio, as the native value will determine whether the content will be displayed in 16:9, 16:10 or 21:9.
Response

TN monitors tend to have the fastest response time. For movie watching we recommend monitors with IPS or PLS, which tend to have more accurate colour reproduction, although their response time is slightly slower. A top end VA monitor is also a good choice. The best ones have a refresh rate of 240 Hz.
Inputs and outputs

when choosing your monitor, it is also important to check the inputs and outputs. The most common include digital DVI, DisplayPort, and the popular and very versatile HDMI.

Gaming monitors are designed for PC gaming enthusiasts. Their parameters differ from other monitors, with a key example being faster response times. The faster the response time, the better and smoother the gaming experience.

Gaming monitor resolution

We recommend choosing a monitors with a high resolution. HD+ offers a decent 1600x900-pixel resolution, but for large-screen monitors, you'll experience a sharper image from Full HD models offering a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. You'll also be rewarded by higher quality and more detailed images. If you want to avoid screen reflection, select a matte or anti-glare monitor.

Gaming monitor technologies

TN monitors have the advantage of fast response times for lower prices, but it's IPS monitors that deliver the highest quality image with accurate colours and fantastic viewing angles. At the moment, they represent the pinnacle of gaming displays. Samsung recently introduced PLS technology, which is known for minimal image distortion and great viewing angles.
