Fujifilm Fujinon GF 55mm f/1.7 R WR

Fujifilm Fujinon GF 55mm f/1.7 R WR
The Fujifilm Fujinon GF 55mm f/1.7 R WR is a standard lens designed for the Fujifilm GFX medium format system. Offering a focal length of 55mm, equivalent to approximately 44mm in 35mm format, it combines a natural perspective with strong subject separation thanks to its high f/1.7 aperture. It's wide aperture allows you to shoot even in low light while creating a soft, creamy bokeh that lets the main subject stand out beautifully against a softly blurred background. This makes it perfect for portraits, street photography, documentary, landscape or travel photography.

Advanced optical design for maximum image quality
The GF55mm f/1.7 R WR lens is composed of 14 elements in 10 groups and uses two aspherical elements and two ED elements to suppress axial chromatic aberration. The spherical elements are manufactured with very high precision (with a tolerance of 1/100,000 millimetre) to minimise "onion ring bokeh". One of the elements is placed just behind the aperture ring to control spherical aberration and to reduce "coma"-back blur, which is especially noticeable in the far parts of the photo so that point light sources on the edge or off-center can appear elongated. A second aspherical element is placed at the rear, closer to the lens bayonet to correct distortion and achieve maximum sharpness from edge to edge of the image. ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) glasses are used to eliminate chromatic aberration, reduce "colour fringing", ensure colour fidelity and a clearer image with better contrast.

Excellent bokeh and depth of field control for portraits
The combination of a fast maximum aperture with a large-format sensor is the perfect recipe for gorgeous, sumptuous bokeh and provides more creative scope for controlling depth of field. The GF55mm f/1.7 R WR is the first GFX lens with 11 aperture blades, resulting in a nearly perfect circular aperture, even at F4 or F5.6. The result is portraits with a sharp subject and beautiful bokeh in the background.
Fast and silent autofocus for action photography
The lens uses a near-silent DC motor with smooth, vibration-free movement that reliably focuses even on a moving subject, which is especially important when shooting action scenes. The DC motor enables the lens to autofocus quickly and precisely even when shooting with shallow depth of field. The flawless performance of optimised AF ensures you won't miss any more key photographic moments.

Rugged durability and compact design for easy carrying
The lens barrel is weather-sealed in nine places to ensure dust and water resistance and the ability to operate in temperatures as low as -10°C. Although it is a large format lens with high aperture, thanks to careful design optimization, it is lightweight and compact in size, ensuring comfortable carrying throughout the day.
