Fast autofocus and intuitive aperture control

The internal focusing mechanism, which ensures the movement of the six lenses, enables fast autofocusing, preserves the overall length of the lens when shooting, and also provides high optical performance consistent throughout the focusing range. The aperture ring allows for intuitive exposure adjustment and can also be set to the lockable A (Auto) and C (Command) positions, which allows the aperture to be set using the camera.

The brass bayonet is durable and strong, and the circular nine-lamel aperture produces a creamy soft-focus background.
