The FSP Champ UPS, in a Rack/Tower design, provides reliable power protection with its online double-conversion topology, delivering stable energy without any interruption during a power failure. This device offers an apparent power of 2000VA and a real power of 1800W, providing an above-average backup time. Thanks to its versatile 2U design, you can easily integrate it into a standard data cabinet or operate it vertically outside of a rack. The input connection supports a wide voltage and frequency range from 40 to 70Hz. The output side consists of four standard IEC 320 C13 sockets and four IEC Jumpers connectors. All these sockets provide full battery backup and protection against power surges. The power system supports an input voltage ranging from 100 to 240V AC, which expands the connection possibilities to various types of electrical systems in industrial and office buildings.

Topology and performance

This online FSP Champ UPS operates on the principle of double conversion, which means it continuously powers connected devices from the inverter. The device provides an apparent power of 2000VA and a real power of 1800W with an output power factor of 0.9. The system uses microprocessor control to optimise reliability and offers a wide input voltage range from 100 to 300V.

Battery and protection

Power is supplied by six 12V batteries with a capacity of 9Ah. The charger restores 90% of the battery capacity within 4 hours, and for long-term operations, the charger's capacity can be expanded up to 6A. The device generates a pure sine wave at the output and is compatible with electric generators. To save on running costs, you can activate the built-in ECO mode, which increases overall operational efficiency.

Management and software

A clear LCD on the front panel provides easy monitoring and management, displaying the current status of the unit. Communication interfaces include USB and RS-232 ports, complemented by a smart slot for an optional SNMP card. System management is handled by the accompanying ViewPower monitoring software, which supports Windows, Linux, MAC, and Solaris operating systems. The 88mm high design corresponds to a 2U size in a rack cabinet, but also allows for stable vertical placement on the floor. The built-in fan keeps noise levels below 50dBA at a distance of 1 metre, contributing to an acceptable acoustic comfort in the work environment.

Operation

The FSP Champ UPS ensures stable operation in a temperature range from 0 to 40°C. Non-condensing humidity in the surrounding environment can range from 20 to 90%. Integrated circuits provide continuous input power factor correction to reduce losses in the electrical network, allowing installation in a wide range of technical rooms and server cabinets that meet these parameters. The FSP CHAMP UPS offers extensive connectivity options for efficient device management and power supply. It comes standard with USB and RS-232 communication ports, which allow for easy integration into monitoring systems. For advanced network functions, a smart slot for an optional SNMP card is available. For powering connected devices, there are 4 IEC 320 C13 output sockets and 4 IEC Jumpers.
