How does Flamigel work?
- Dry wounds: Flamigel moisturises a dry wound. The wound absorbs the water contained in the gel. The gel helps to dissolve damaged or dead tissue.
- Wet wounds: The hydrocolloid component absorbs excess fluid. It helps to restore and maintain the moisture balance in the wound.
How to use Flamigel
- 1. Clean: Wash your hands before treatment. Gently clean the wound.
- 2. Dry: Carefully dry the wound before applying the gel.
- 3. Apply: Apply Flamigel directly to the wound. Do not rub the gel into the wound.
- 4. Cover: If necessary, cover the wound with a plaster or dressing. Change the dressing regularly.
Minor wounds and superficial burns
Apply once or twice a day. For sunburn, apply two to six times a day. If necessary, cover the wound with a plaster or dressing. Change the dressing every day.
Superficial open wounds
Apply a layer of gel approximately 5mm thick. Avoid excessive contact with the edges of the wound. Cover with a sterile non-stick dressing. Secure the dressing with gauze or a bandage. Leave the gel in place as long as its structure remains intact. Redress open wounds every day. As new skin begins to form and the wound closes, apply only a thin layer of gel.
Removing the gel
Wash your hands before and after removing the gel. Remove Flamigel with a damp gauze. Removal is easy and painless.
