The DXS-1210 is a cost effective 10GbE switch capable of serving a range of network services in any business. D-Link DXS-1210 is ideal for deploying VoIP because it supports Auto Voice VLAN and QoS Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) for VoIP applications. Auto Voice VLAN will automatically transfer voice traffic from the IP phone to the assigned VLAN to improve the operation of VoIP services. Due to a higher priority and dedicated VLAN, the switch guarantees high-quality and secure VoIP traffic. DSCP refers to the IP packet part, allowing different service levels to be assigned to network traffic. By using bandwidth control, the network administrator can reserve a certain bandwidth for important features that require higher bandwidth or higher priority.
The switch provides a full set of L2 features including IGMP Snooping, Port Mirroring, Spanning Tree, and Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). IEEE 802.3x Flow Control provides direct connectivity for servers. Network maintenance features include Loopback Detection and cable diagnostics. Loopback Detection is used to detect loops created by a particular port and automatically disconnects the affected port or VLAN segment. Cable diagnostics are used by network administrators to quickly test the quality of metallic cables as well as to determine the type of cable defect.
The innovative D-Link Safeguard Engine protects the switch from overflow by unwanted traffic or virus-induced attacks. The switch also supports access control lists (ACL) and 802.1X port authentication via external RADIUS servers. The IP-MAC-port link allows administrators to track the location of IP addresses by linking the source IP address to the appropriate MAC address and source port. To further increase security, DHCP Server Screening is available to filter pirated DHCP server packets from user ports to prevent unauthorized IP address allocation.
D-Link Network Assistant (DNA) simplifies the configuration of devices that support D-Link Discovery. All D-Link Smart Managed switches immediately appear within the same L2 segment and display on the screen. It also allows simultaneous configuration of all found devices, including password changes and firmware upgrades. It also supports CLI through Telnet and D-View 7, a network management system for centrally managing critical network characteristics such as availability, reliability, resilience, and security.
