Such catastrophic scenarios can be forestalled by the CyberPower VP1000EILCD uninterrupted power supply (UPS). This is a battery reservoir that provides power for all types of computers and devices that need electricity to function. The CyberPower VP1000EILCD UPS uses the Line interactive design approach. Off-line is the simplest form when power fails because it connects to the battery and disconnects from the mains power. The line interactive UPS also adds power protection to prevent damage from dangerous surges and spikes.

A key parameter is the UPS run time during outages. This is governed by the power consumption of the connected electronics – for example, at half-load (50%), the UPS power time can last up to three times as long. The load of the backup source determines the operating time, which at full load (100%) is 1 min and at half-load, it's 9 min. It is therefore essential to determine the energy consumption of the connected appliances and it is best to have a bit of energy extra left. The CyberPower VP1000EILCD measures the apparent power as 1000, but realistically, the actual power usage is 550 W.
