The Cayin RU7 headphone amplifier offers high-quality sound that will satisfy even demanding audiophiles. It is the world's first dongle to use 1-bit DSD processing technology, taking listening quality to a whole new level. The Cayin RU7 works as a DAC dongle for Android and iOS devices via an OTG (On-The-Go) connection, and you can also use it as a reliable USB-DAC for computers running macOS and Windows (versions 7 to 11). High-quality and balanced audio performance is ensured by a dual printed circuit board (PCB) and a decoding circuit with 128 precision resistors that process digital signals using “All to DSD” technology. With this advanced technology, your phone or laptop becomes a fully-fledged high-end source, capable of playing audio files in advanced DSD256 or PCM 384kHz formats. The device has a classic 3.5mm output and a balanced 4.4mm Pentaconn port with an output of up to 400mW (at 32Ω), which lets you connect various types of headphones, including more demanding models with higher power requirements. A practical protective case is included in the package.

Thanks to its high output, the Cayin RU7 amplifier is the ideal choice for users of IEM headphones. When using the single-ended (unbalanced) output, the amplifier delivers 160mW (at 32Ω), which is sufficient for most in-ear monitors. For more demanding headphones, you can use the balanced 4.4mm output, which offers 400mW of power at 32Ω. This port can also be used to connect larger over-ear headphones, more demanding buds, or hybrid models with electrostatic (EST) drivers that require more power.

The Cayin RU7 headphone amplifier boasts an innovative dual-layer PCB design that effectively separates the digital section of the device from the analogue one. This solution minimises noise and electromagnetic interference, which guarantees a cleaner and more stable sound output, even at maximum power. By separating the circuits, the Cayin RU7 delivers an undisturbed audio performance where even very fine details are not lost, something you will particularly appreciate when using the balanced output where any noise can be very noticeable.
The Cayin RU7 amplifier has an elegant and ergonomic design
The Cayin RU7 boasts an elegant design, featuring a compact body made of black anodised aluminium and a front glass panel with a small LCD screen that displays important operational data and simplifies playback control. The most significant changes from the previous version are its smaller size, lower profile, and a revised layout of the controls, which now have a horizontal arrangement, making operation easier and improving the overall ergonomics of the amplifier. Other improvements include chamfered edging and fine grooves that make the device easier to grip and handle. In addition, the top and bottom panels are fitted with protective elements that shield the connectors from impacts and damage.
