The DirectSelect+ control panel simplifies navigation with its intuitive interface and supporting light line. You can set the selected cooking zone, power level, and additional functions directly without tedious switching. This lets you make the necessary adjustments quickly and with a few simple touches.
Extended FlexZone – space even for large cookware
The extended FlexZone lets you connect flexible cooking surfaces not only from front to back but also sideways, thanks to the central zone. The hob automatically detects the size and position of the cookware and heats the corresponding area. You can place a large roasting tin lengthways in the upper section and still have space for other pots and pans.
PerfectFry Plus – the right temperature without burning
Too high a temperature can quickly dry out or burn steak, vegetables, and other delicate dishes. The PerfectFry Plus sensor therefore continuously monitors the pan's temperature and automatically maintains it at the selected level. You can choose from 11 pre-set temperatures ranging from 70 to 220°C to tailor the heat to your specific recipe.
Easy Flex Zones – automatic hob surface adjustment
The BOSCH PXY83KHC1E Serie 6 induction hob detects where the cookware is and what size it is. It then automatically adjusts the corresponding cooking zone. When you move a pot or pan, the setting can be transferred to the new location after a brief confirmation, without you having to set the power again.
Smart Hood Automatic – the hood reacts to the hob
The Smart Hood Automatic function connects the hob to a compatible extractor hood via your Home Connect account. An algorithm then adjusts the extraction power according to the current cooking zone settings. The extractor hood regulates itself automatically during cooking, helping to keep your kitchen free of excess steam and odours.
Favourites button – your custom setting in a single touch
You can save a frequently used combination of functions to the Favourites button. This could be, for example, a specific power level along with a precisely set timer. When connected to Home Connect, you can also assign control of the light on a compatible cooker hood to your favourite settings.
Remote diagnostics – smarter service support
If the hob isn't working correctly, customer service can connect to the appliance online with your permission. The support agent can then check its status remotely, identify the possible cause, and recommend the next steps. If an engineer's visit is necessary, they can be better prepared for the specific fault in advance.
Frying Sensor Assistant – recommended temperature for your recipe
The Frying Sensor Assistant makes it easy to find the right temperature for a specific dish. Simply select a recipe in a supported app or ask the Alexa voice assistant for a recommended setting. The corresponding PerfectFry Plus temperature is then sent directly to the hob, which automatically monitors it during frying.

PowerBoost – faster heating without the wait
The PowerBoost function temporarily increases the power of a selected cooking zone above its highest normal level. It's useful, for example, when quickly bringing a large amount of water to the boil. It can speed up heating by almost 35%, so you can get on with the next stage of cooking sooner.
Pause function – safely interrupt your cooking
If you're interrupted while cooking, you can temporarily pause the heating and lock the control buttons at the same time. The function is also handy for a quick wipe-down of the hob surface. You can resume cooking with the original settings within 10 minutes.
QuickStart – start cooking faster
When switched on, the QuickStart function automatically detects the position of your cookware on the hob surface. It then selects the corresponding zone on the control panel. Just set the desired power level and you can start cooking immediately.
ReStart – restores previous settings
If the hob boils over or is switched off accidentally, it saves the last-used settings. After cleaning the surface, you can switch it back on. The ReStart function then restores the original values, so you don't have to enter them again.
Timer with automatic switch-off
You can set a desired cooking time for a selected cooking zone. After the set time has elapsed, the heating will switch off automatically. This means you don't have to constantly watch your food, making it easier to avoid overcooking.
Child lock – protection against unintentional use
The child lock prevents the hob from being switched on or its settings from being changed by accident. You activate it by pressing and holding the corresponding button. This keeps the control panel secure from unwanted tampering.
