Great tasting water with binchotan

Traditionally produced binchotan, or white charcoal, is denser than ordinary charcoal, has a smooth, hard surface, and makes a metallic ringing sound when struck. Its porous surface features countless tiny cavities running in all directions. Impurity ions are attracted and trapped by the charcoal, while beneficial minerals are released into the water. The binchotan charcoal stick included in the BLACK+BLUM set can also be used in any other bottle or jug. It comes pre-washed and ready to use.

Active charcoal carafe is easy to use

To use the BLACK+BLUM carafe, first fill the vessel with drinking water, then gently place the binchotan active charcoal stick inside and store it in the fridge. The purifying effect begins after 60 minutes, but the stick reaches its maximum effect after 8 hours. With daily use, the active charcoal retains its properties for 3 months, but you can double its lifespan by placing it in boiling water for 10 minutes and letting it dry in the sun. Even after a total of 6 months, the binchotan remains useful around the home. You can add it to soil for houseplants, use it as an odour absorber in cat litter trays, laundry baskets, or shoe racks, and it also absorbs moisture from the air.
