Colektio Chipped Olivine Bracelet

The Colektio Olivine Chip bracelet is a unisex piece of jewellery made from natural olivine. Each chip bead has a unique olive shade, the richness of which depends on the ratio of iron to magnesium in the mineral. This is a fixed beaded bracelet with a length of 19cm. It requires gentle handling as it is sensitive to sudden temperature changes and exposure to acids, which may be found in cosmetics, for example.

The mineral olivine and its care

Olivine, also known as peridot or chrysolite, is a magnesium iron silicate. Its final appearance is determined by the fluctuating ratio of magnesium and iron in the crystal lattice. The higher the concentration of iron, the richer the green colour of the mineral. Care should be taken during wear and maintenance as olivine is sensitive to sudden temperature changes. Therefore, do not expose the bracelet to direct sunlight or wash it with hot water. It is also susceptible to damage from acids. To clean it, all you need is lukewarm water and a soft cloth.
