SCR - Selective Catalytic Reduction

All diesel engines in KODIAQ cars use the SCR system to meet EU6 emission limits, which requires an additive sold under the brand name AdBlue® to function. AdBlue® causes a catalytic reaction in the exhaust system that reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.

• The properties of AdBlue® are described in ISO 22241
• AdBlue® is a 32.5% solution of synthetic urea in distilled water
• The AdBlue® tank has a capacity of approx. 18 litres from the 2019 model year, which, depending on operating conditions and driving style, is sufficient for approx. 6 000 to 18 000 km
• The driver is alerted in three steps via the information display when the remaining range is 2,400 / 1,000 / 0 km
• After the AdBlue® tank is completely empty, the vehicle is not drivable (engine cannot be started)
• The driver can refill AdBlue® himself or at an authorised workshop
• The AdBlue® filler neck is located next to the fuel filler neck. The minimum possible refill quantity is 4 l
