AdBlue GreenChem is an aqueous urea solution consisting of 32,5 % technically pure urea and 67,5 % distilled water. This solution helps to significantly reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from diesel engines, ensuring that increasingly stringent legal exhaust standards are met. AdBlue is injected into the catalytic converter with the SCR system, where it causes a chemical reaction with ammonia. SCR injection system

The GreenChem AdBlue solution is injected upstream of the exhaust catalytic converter (i.e. into the engine exhaust systems, not directly into the engine). The catalyst then undergoes selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and decomposes into ammonia and carbon dioxide. The ammonia then reacts with nitrogen oxides and the vehicle then emits mainly water vapour and nitrogen in the exhaust.
